Boston Reminds Young People: 80% Of COVID-Cases Have Been Under Age 60

A city-issued text said "Nearly 80 percent of COVID-19 cases in East Boston News were in persons 20-59 years of age. We need your help: Stay at home, wash your hands, do not socialize in person." About 21% of cases were in people between the ages of 20 and 29.

The Public Health Commission data also showed regional differences in infection rates around the city. As of April 2, the city had a rate of 18.1 infections per 10,000 residents, but in Hyde park the rate was 30.4 and in East Boston it was 27.7.

Boston cases so far have been split almost exactly evenly between males and females.
